As long ago as 1986 Peter F Druker writing for the paper Foreign Affairs wrote, " The talk today is of the changing world economy. I wish to argue that the world economy is not "changing"; it has already changed—in its foundations and in its structure—and in all probability the change is irreversible."

Since then the change in world economics has escalated towards a full scale economic downfall. There is a shift of economic control away from the West and towards the Middle East, China and India. This has put tremendous pressure on businesses of all types and on all continents and not all businesses are surviving. The need to generate leads for your small business has gone beyond the traditional offline marketing.

So how can the small business hope to survive?

Chris Cardell of Cardell Media, the UK’s leading expert on entrepreneurial success points out that in a changing world economy the market has expanded but become diluted. The need to use all marketing means at your disposal are paramount. It is no longer possible just to rely on your local market to generate leads or customers for your business. We all know also that one way to remain profitable is to reduce costs, especially spiraling marketing costs but marketing is the only way to generate leads and increase business.

Traditionally the way conventional business has maintained its market presence is by offline advertising, mail shots, either targeted or not, post cards and cold calling. All these have become very expensive and time consuming. It is paradoxical. We need to increase marketing but reduce the cost.

One way to reduce the cost and still produce marketing result is by means of internet marketing and modern technology to generate leads. We may or may not like the internet but in today’s changing world economy, it is here to stay. As the market becomes more and more global, the internet is the only way to increase our product awareness without dramatically increasing the cost.

We all know that the most effective method of marketing is to market directly to a targeted market that is already seeking to purchase our product or service. Now it is possible to purchase lists of more or less targeted leads but these are also expensive and not known for being very targeted. You can also use PPC or pay per click, which is again expensive and less and time consuming to make effective.

What the small business could automate the whole process of generating leads, emailing them, telephoning them and even printing address labels to use for post card advertising? The leads generated being targeted to your exact niche market and even demographically focused at a cost affordable for even the smallest business. Think how much money the business could save in employment, advertising revenue and postage.

New technology

Well this is now possible. Dan Millers new software program LeadNet Pro does all this and more at a fraction of the cost of the more traditional methods. The program is a web based integrated answer for generating multiple targeted leads for any size business at the touch of a button. You have to learn about key word searching for niche markets but even that is not difficult. All the leads gathered are from legitimate sources and are as highly targeted as is possible. It is an answer to many small business owner’s prayers.

In today’s changing world economy all small to medium size businesses need to embrace technology to maintain their market presence in today’s changing world economy. As entrepreneurs you can help lead the changes, take advantage of a world market but only if you are prepared to embrace the changes and work with them.
